Masterpieces of Futurism
A century after the publication of the Futurist Manifesto by the young poet Filippo Tommaso Marinetti, Peggy Guggenheim Collection celebrates the revolutionary movement that influenced the whole European artistic scene with the exhibition “Masterpieces of Futurism at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection” curated by Phlip Rylands, director of the venitian Museum, from 18 february and for all year long.
The exhibition is a tribute to Gianni Mattioli's genius, one of the most important collectors of the XX century, whose collection includes an important group of futuristic paintings by Giacomo Balla, Umberto Boccioni, Carlo Carrà, Luigi Russolo, Gino Severini, Ottone Rosai, Mario Sironi and Ardengo Soffici.
