Nuova Icona is a non-profit organization founded in Venice in 1993. It is devoted to the production of new artistic projects and to the publication of catalogues in the field of contemporary visual arts.
The organization has two exhibition venues in Venice, the gallery space on Giudecca island and the small church of the Oratorio di San Ludovico (Dosoduro) where till today it organized more than two hundreds shows, publishing around one hundreds catalogues. Under the label
"museometropolitano", Nuova Icona engages the town in artistic projects, considering the Venice stunning cultural heritage as a unique resource for new productions.
With an experimental attitude for contemporary art, Nuova Icona is the active layer between the audience and the artists, a workshop making things happen.
