Opened in 1638, the Casinò di Venezia has always been a centre of international attraction. Classic games in a sumptuous environment and innovative entertainment entrusted to highly professional personnel, in the magic setting of the most unique city in the world.

 At the end of the thirties the Casinò di Venezia was opened on the golden beaches of Lido, as an important part of the city's hospitality, entertainment and culture.
The Casino's city centre location was opened during the 1950s, in the somptuous Ca' Vendramin Calergi palace on the Grand Canal.
This is one of the most elegant palazzi overlooking Venice's main waterway. A perfect example of aristocratic renaissance architecture, home of doges and the last resting-place of Richard Wagner.

On 1995 the room on its mezzanine floor where the famous composer Richard Wagner died was entrusted to the Associazione Richard Wagner di Venezia, headed by Giuseppe Pugliese. The area has since been turned into a museum and opened to the public in eternal memory of the composer and his love for Venice. Since 2003 the adjacent rooms have also been added to the museum to house the Josef Lienhart collection; a donation including rare documents, posters, scores, signed letters, paintings, records, lithographs and various other heirlooms.
This is now the largest private collection dedicated to the great German composer outside Bayreuth.
