November Woman: initiative against violence to women
From the 5th to the 24th of November the "Centro Donna-Servizio Cittadinanza delle donne e culture delle differenze" has planned a series of initiatives: performances, discussions, readings, seminars, all directed to awakening public opinion to the theme of violence against women.
The November Woman schedule, is staging a conversation with Loredana Lipperini, Franca Bimbi and Franca Marcomin at 5.30 p.m. on Wednesday 5 November at the Candiani’s Conference Room.
The theme will revolve around the book “Ancora dalla parte delle bambine" (Still taking up a little girl’s defence), edited by Feltrinelli. At 5.30 p.m. on Friday 14th November at the Candiani Auditorium a stage reading will take place of Eva Ensler’s "Il corpo giusto" (The right body).
From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday 22nd of November at the Frari Theatre in Venice a seminar will take place, entitled “Se questa è una donna. Violenza , narrazione, memoria” ( “Whether this is a Woman. Violence, Narrative, Memory.”) "Donne di Sabbia. Testimonianze di donne di Ciudad Juarez"( “Women made of Sand. Women Witnessing from Ciudad Juarez”) will be performed at the Ex Gil Theatre at 9 p.m. of the same day. Texts are by Antonio Cerezo Contreras, Denise Dresser; Malù Garcia Andrade, Maria Hope, Eugenia Muñoz, Marisela Ortiz e Juan Rìos.

"Femminicidio: dalla denuncia sociale al riconoscimento giuridico"( “The Assassination of Women: from social statement to juridic acknowledgement”, a book by Franco Angeli will be presented at 5.30 p.m. on Monday 24 November at the Candiani’s Conference Room. It will be followed by conversation with Barbara Spinelli, Franca Bimbi and Maria Margherita Salzer.
At 5.30 p.m. on Wednesday 26 November at scoletta dei Calegheri in S. Tomà, G.Palumbo will present the book “Teresina. A true story”.
A debate is scheduled for 5.30 p.m., on Friday 28 November at the Momo Theatre (Ex Gil) in Mestre under the title "Donne contro / Contro le donne. La conquista dei diritti, la difesa dei diritti (“Women Against/Against Women. Rights obtained, rights defended.” Readings from novels and essays on emancipation, feminism, abortion, domestic violence.
