Venice Saved - Tribute to Simone Weil
From June 3rd to September 20th the Magazzini del Sale (Punta della Dogana) hosts Venice Saved – Tribute to Simone Weil where a group of Italian women artists exhibit their paintings inspired by the unfinished work of the French philosopher and Christian mystic. The exhibition is one of the collateral event of the 53a Biennale of Art.
To celebrate the 100th anniversary of Simone Weil's birth some of the most important women artists of XX century has realized works inspired by the book. The artists involved are: Carol Rama - Maria Lai - Lidia Puglioli - Mirella Bentivoglio - Carla Accardi - Sara Campesan - Ida Barbarigo - Anna Torelli - Valentina Berardinone - Elisa Montessori - Gabriella Benedini - Giosetta Fioroni - Lucia Marcucci - Irma Blank - Renata Boero - Amalia Del Ponte - Cloti Ricciardi - Fausta Squatriti - Chiara Diamantini - Paola Gandolfi - Lucilla Catania - Marilena Sassi - Maria Bernardone - Liliana Moro - Monica Bonvicini - Sara Rossi - Lara Favaretto
The opening will take place on Wednesday 3rd June at 6.30 p.m. with the Councillor Luana Zanella
