Ecumenism and Multiculture This itinerary winds its way among the main ethnic and cultural communities of Venice, the Jewish, the Greek and the Armenian, focusing on the multiethnic aspect of the city.
The tour deepens the theme of the minority communities living in Venice in the Age of the Serenissima Republic to lay emphasis on the historic contributions of the Greek, Armenian and Jewish to the cultural and artistic development of the city.

Venice Ghetto and San Lazzaro degli Armeni
( Armenian Monastery on the island of St Lazarus )

Programme:
h 10,00 Meeting with the guide at Tronchetto. Beginning of the journey.
h 10,30 Visit of the Ghetto: the Synagogues and the Jewish Musem.
h 11,00 Walking Tour in the district of Cannaregio.
h 13,00 Lunch break
h 15,00 Departure for St Lazarus Island, property of the Armenian Community of Venice. The island was named after St Lazarus because it was used as a hospital, a monastery and an asylum for people affected by leprosy. Visit of the island.
h 17.00 Arrival in San Zaccaria and walking tour to St Mark’s Square
h 18.00 Return to Tronchetto
