to recover the original collective ritual of going to the movies.
A
long, articulated
Venetian summer event, organized every year by the Circuito
Cinema
Comunale and located to the Giorgione Movie d'Essai, to
Lido's Astra and in the
magnificent summer arena of Campo San Polo, that may be
considered
to be a real service to citizens.
This event has been in existence for thirty years. It has never ceded to the ephimeral demands of tourism, remaining ever faithful to itself and to cinema.
Venice is the perfect container for this collective déja vu with its municipal halls and its public composed of fond cinéphiles, assembled in the setting of Campo San Polo, then dispersing with echoing stepd among the dark, deserted calli, into the Venice summer August nights.
