An Invitation to the Marciana Library
From the 23rd of May to the 29th June, 2009, the Biblioteca Nazionale Marciana has organised a series of free guide tours of the library and its history.

53rd International Art Exhibition - Biennale
The 53rd International Art Exhibition, entitled Fare Mondi // Making Worlds directed by Daniel Birnbaum, organized by La Biennale di Venezia chaired by Paolo Baratta, will open to the public from Sunday June 7th to Sunday November 22nd 2009 in the Giardini (50,000 sq.m.) and the Arsenale (38,000 sq.m.) as well as in various other locations around the city. The press preview will take place on June 4th, 5th, and 6th 2009.
Museums at Night on 16th May 2009
On May 16th 2009, all italian public museums will be open for free for a whole night, offering the chance to discover the country's finest museums and collections, from dusk until 1am.

Su e Zo per i ponti
Every year TGS Group organize a non-competitive run "Su e zo per i ponti" (Up and Down the Bridges) for everybody: young and old, families and school. Different routes are laid out for various age groups, and beverage is available along the track. Runners follow a route characteristic of the city, which leads them through calli (streets), campi (squares) and ponti (bridges). Runners receive a commemorative medal on completing the event.

On February 18, 2009, the Peggy Guggenheim Collection has introduced the programme of the exhibitions of year 2009 under the title of Masterpieces of Futurism at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, on the centenary of this great avant-gard artistic movement that influenced all European Arts. The program is curated by Philip Rylands.
