Grape Must Festival
The Grape Must Festival of Sant’Erasmo is one of the most popular feast of the lagoon which take place on the first weekend of October. It is a unique chance to combine heritage and the picturesque landscapes of the north lagoon of Venice and to spend a day in an island still unknown by many tourists.
The day-long festival is packed with entertainment and charity fundraising events.
In the morning there will be the thanksgiving Mess attended by the market gardeners and the benediction of the farm wagons, while at 2 p.m. there will be a mascareta regatta of mixed crew starting from the canal opposite the Massimiliana Tower.
The evening sees the traditional public wine-pressing, with a chance to taste the fresh grape juice.
The event is organized by the Comitato festeggiamenti di Sant'Erasmo with the collaboration of the Municipalità di Venezia-Murano-Burano and the agricultural consortiums as the Consorzio del Carciofo Violetto (violet Artichoke) and wine producers.
The program of the event include: wine pressing, must tasting, gastronomic stands, live music and a market of local products.

One day for discovering islets bent for agriculture in the north lagoon, that still to this day supply a great deal of city markets. From Vignole to Sant'Erasmo, the “vegetable gardens of Serenissima” on Lazzaretto Nuovo which offers its visitors considerable hints of naturalistic and landscape interest.
On June the 2nd there is the Sant'Erasmo Regatta, the first regatta of the season reserved to women who will compete on slender and fast two rows mascarete and the first regatta for young who will compete on two rows pupparini.
