Church of St Salvador
In the centre of the city, at the end of the main shopping artery called the Merceria, stands the Church of St Salvador. According to tradition it is one of the oldest in Venice.
It was rebuilt in the 1500s and faces onto the campo from which it takes its name.
Its white, baroque façade, modified by Giuseppe Sardi in 1663 is decorated with sculptures.
With its 3 naves, it is one of the best examples of Renaissance
architecture in Venice.
In the right hand nave is a monument to the Doge Francesco Venier by Sansovino (1561) and the Annunciation by Tiziano (1566). Above the main altar is Tiziano’s Transfiguration (1560) behind which is a precious, silver altar piece from the 1300s.

Spiritual Concert on the occasion of the Historical Regatta
Another concert in the series Festival Monteverdi di Venezia will be presented by the Cultural Association Musica Venezia.
