Church of San Giorgio dei Greci
The Greek Orthodox church in Venice is known, as the title above shows, as St George of the Greeks.
The area of Castello where it can be found, once held a large Greek community.
The church was built in 1564 under the direction of famous architects like Sante Lombardo. The façade is three form while the interior of the church has only one nave with a dome in the centre and the main altar is separated from the congregation by a panel decorated by icons.
