This year Venice Biennale will enrich the Carnival program with The Garden of Creativity - Biennale’s 1st Children’s Carnival, to be held in the Palazzo delle Esposizioni in the Giardini from 6th to 16th February 2010.

A rich programme of educational activities, creative initiatives, interactive games, entertainment, surprise performances and many curiosities aimed at schoolchildren and kids, families and public.

The Garden of Creativity will help the participants in the realisation of costumes, accessories, masks and instruments that will remain on show in the Palazzo delle Esposizioni. Subsequently, those who wish to participate will be able to process from the Giardini to St Mark’s during the Shrove Tuesday parade (16 February).

The colours of art, the sounds of music, the fantasies of theatre, the magic of dance, the utopia of architecture and the dreams of cinema will all blend at the Palazzo delle Esposizioni in the Giardini, in a single container that will draw visitors into an unusual discovery of the contemporary arts, all under the banner of the Carnival festivities.

Art workshop: today, it’s the instruments’ turn, followed by parade, entertainment and games.
 
LET’S RAISE THE CURTAIN
Wednesday 10 February at 3 p.m.
Art workshop: Let’s create the “mantario”, the theatre curtain, followed by a performance of “Dal Sole al Quadrato Nero” by class 5M of the Istituto Statale d’Arte di Venezia, a free adaptation of the Russian cubo-futurist work, “Victory over the Sun” by Malevich.
 
ON WITH THE DANCE
Thursday 11 February at 3 p.m.
Art workshop: in movement between the rooms, followed by parade, entertainment and games.
 
ARCHITECTURING
Friday 12 February at 3 p.m.
Art workshop: I build, followed by parade, entertainment and games.
 
CREDITS

READY, PARADE…GO
